Valentine's and Other Such Things

Naomi looooves her daddy.
They go on dates all the time.
And she LOVES my stethoscopes. It is so cute to watch her walk around with the bell/diaphragm skating along the floor.
She can even handle two at once. How talented can you get, I ask you?
Another new favorite is being pushed around the house in the laundry basket. She waves as she makes laps through the living room and kitchen. And it's a fabulous way to get the ol' preggo mom's heartrate up. Over. And over. Again.
Valentine's Day and a handsome redhead brought me these beautiful roses.
Then Grant and I were sitting on the couch visiting while we watched Naomi discover a box of chocolates sitting on the ground. I flinched to take it away, then I thought, oh, what the heck. What better holiday than Valentine's to discover your first bite of chocolate candy. She was just fine with my decision.
My husband, bless his heart, also thought his son should have a few chocolates. Or a hundred. And a heart-shaped cheese quesadilla to go with them (a staple craving for this pregnancy). Be careful. If you look too closely, you'll see a baby coming through a pelvis in my notes for school.
Speaking of babies and pelves. Starting to show. And I promised a pic, so here it is. 22 weeks this Tuesday, so I'll give an updated one soon! Our love to all...

Sweet Little Boy...

This morning, we got a first glimpse of the newest miracle to enter our lives.
And all I could think of while we sat and studied his sweet little features, (which, by the way, did include boy parts:)
were the words of a classic children's book...
 "I'll love you forever,
 I'll like you for always,
 as long as I'm living,
my baby you'll be."

Thank You, God, for this gift.

Longest Post. Ever.

So I'm probably the only blogger out there who has decided tonight to post pictures from Christmas. LOL. Sorry. But I think my blogging frequency will indeed be changing with all that we have going on around here for the next few months. So here's been from Christmas to now...
 Excuse the snot:

 Playing with the loot!

Not so sure about the dancing snowman...
Mr. Furtkamp makes the blog! Mainly because this is the fullest shot I got of Naomi in her sweet Christmas dress. :) Oh, and he's a great guy!
Is there anything cuter than a crawling little girl in a dress?
A fun, charades-like game that I can't remember the name of...
flattering.
A favorite new face she makes:

and THIS is how excite we get about baths around here!
I got to get away for a weekend in January and spend some special times with my best friends from college. What a blessing! WHY didn't we take more pictures!!!? If only I had photoshop to insert Emmy's head across the table from Reebs.
Much needed girl time. Love them all!
And we celebrated G's birthday! 33 years!

What our living room looks like nearly every day. I've just plain given up. :)
And at 18-months, Naomi is pulling all sorts of new tricks. We find her on top of tables. Kitchen table was a first tonight though - made our hearts drop!

Sportin' the Lelli Kelli high tops.
New obsession = baby dolls. Carries them around all day, looking at them, saying, "hi!" in the cutest voice ever. Of course, she's also saying "hi" to other inanimate objects as well. You know - grilled cheese sandwiches, the ironing board, anything that she comes into contact with...
Oh, how I wish this pic wasn't fuzzy!
Mid-tantrum. From the ice cream video day. She'll lay down and look back at us to see if we're watching. 'Are you seeing the pain you've caused, Mom?'
 New love - juice boxes!
And late x-mas presents! Woo-hoo! Love spreading out the love!

What child doesn't need a 5-foot-long froggie? She sits in its lap to read books. Love it.
Mouth full of a Nilla wafer. Chilly January morning walk. Nothin' better.
First piece of artwork in blue and purple crayon on the wall. Look at the pride in her face.
G tackled buffing up the other car's headlights for fun. Before:
 During the hard work:
 The Amazing After:
A man's way to attempt putting tights on a toddler.
And he loved the bear on her butt so much, the dress got stuffed.
Last day at mother's day out happened, in preparation for full-day, every-day preschool (can't bear to use the word daycare - shoot me now), for while I'm in clinicals. We loved CBC! Thanks for loving our girl so well - we miss you already!
And to close, a pic of what is a likely face around here lately. Our sweet baby is really forming opinions these days. :) Here she was telling me that one of her opinions is that I need to do better at blogging more often. I hereby commit to try. :) Here's to more posts in February!
