My husband is an expert on coffee. From green bean to the beautiful rosetta latte-art poured in a cup, he knows it all. His passion is partly why we moved here, to pursue a potential business in roasting and opening a cafe. Lots has to happen before that will launch, however, so in the meantime, he has become a part-time barista at a local cafe here. He just couldn't handle the time away from his professional espresso machines any longer...
Above, you see the Anchorage Cafe, his new home away from home. The 50% off discount he receives for fresh beans? Sheer joy to my budget-keeping ways. To the left of the cafe (the yellow building) is a "make your stomach growl and your mouth drool" kind of restaurant. It is fortunately not cheap, or else we'd be there every night - The Village Anchor. The cafe is the coolest little place though. The large wooden doors open up in the good weather for evenings on the lawn. Behind them is the lower level of the coffee shop seen here:

The gleam of the silver espresso machine is behind the counter to the left, while Grant stands in front of the dessert display case. And boy, do those desserts deserve to be on display! Everything on the menu here is incredible, which also makes the 50% discount a wonderful thing. They serve breakfast, lunch, and all kinds of pastries and such.

You step out of the cafe into a courtyard that is shared by tables for both the cafe and the restaurant next door. The middle set of black doors opens up and you can sit inside at a bench and kick your feet out as you watch the people go by. Naomi prefers to pitch a high chair and go to town on her sweet potato puffs, like she's doing in the picture (she's the speck of a little human to the left of the lady in pink. Far left black doors. See her? We shall call her Waldo.)
Yes, there's even gorgeous landscaping. We have loved Grant's position here at the cafe so far. A fun new addition to our little life here in Kentucky.
